Hi, Lovely!
Another month has passed, the UK is still in lockdown, but at least the kids are back at school. They were excited to see their friends again, and I am grateful that I can focus better on my day job as a scientist. If you’re curious, here’s an interview I gave to The Biochemist recently about working in pharmaceutical research.
A Giveaway To Celebrate 10’000 Sold Books

Two years ago I started my author journey with the publication of “Find Cranky Cat!”. Until today I have added another 5 books and 1 translation to my repertoire. This month I’m celebrating having sold 10’000 paperbacks!
PS: For those who are interested in the numbers: My first 2 books brought in 91% of these sales, whereas my latest two picture books constituted only 7% of sales. Who’d have thought?
Since you are supporting me with my mission to inspire little kids to dream BIG, 3 of you can win a signed copy of either of my books. Please reply to my email with the book you’d like to win, and I will add your name to the drawing.
A Look Behind The Scenes

I’m currently getting ready to publish “A Million Years From Home” in German, called “Der Dino und die Löwin“. The German version will be written in perfect rhymes just like the English original. I honestly cannot wait to finally have a rhyming book out that my German family and friends can read, too. If you are interested in joining my launch team, please let me know.
Also, Miss Jessica from Miss Jessica’s World has been reading “Pilot Ray” on her YouTube Channel. She is AMAZING! As a bonus, there’s a fun interview with me towards the end of the video (at 7:34 min). And here’s a secret: While the kids were supposed to be supervised by my partner, my eldest son sneaked upstairs and was peeking into the room. Can you tell when I notice him?
Book Buzz
This month, I have picked the following 3 book-related resources for you and your family. I hope they will inspire you to read, write, listen to, and tell more stories!

Audible made Story Party: The Complete Collection free to help parents at home to entertain their kids. It’s a collection of stories that were recorded at live performances by some of the best storytellers. Our family favourite is Kirk Waller! BE AWARE! You might want to skip Chapter 9 if your child believes in Santa.

I am thrilled that “Pilot Ray” made it onto the 2020’s Best Picture Books For Preschoolers list. Carla from Preschool Powol Packets has been reviewing hundreds of books and has picked only her family’s favourites. Why not check out her other recommendations?

My youngest is currently learning how to read and write. To be honest, he isn’t very keen to write BUT he loves doodling on my iPad. We will use Kaligo now to make handwriting more fun. It’s a free, Dfe-approved Early Years Learning App where children trace letters through colourful and intuitive screens.
I hope you enjoyed this Newsletter. If you did or if you would like to send me other feedback, please reply to my email. I’d love to hear from you! Also, I post regularly on Social Media. Please hop over to Facebook or Instagram and connect with me there. I cannot wait to meet you!
Thank you for being on this journey with me.
Have a lovely day,
Jana
