I’ve decided to pick up at least one piece of litter per day this year. Let me be honest with you: I don’t look forward do it, as I don’t like it. But here’s the thing: Most people don’t. Their attitude is “I didn’t drop it, why would I pick it up?” That’s the problem though and it says a lot about people’s view on the state of our planet as a whole: They believe that someone else will come along and fix it and they are too comfortable themselves to act. Without being too preachy, I’d like to teach my kids that this here, Earth, is our planet and that we need to take care of it. It’s a tiny physical act but a big one for the mind.⠀
